SOS Kindergarten

In Benin, each site of SOS Children’s Village Programme has a kindergarten. This facility is part of the Education Interventions, which provides support for the two main programmes which are the SOS families (Family-based care) and the families of origin (family strengthening).

Indeed, SOS Kindergartens pursue the same objectives as the official pre nursery schools but with specificity for the priority given to the enrolment of children in difficult circumstances at the family level.

In general, the SOS Hermann Gmeiner Kindergarten welcomes these children to ensure arousal and stimulation of their senses and their mental faculties. They prepare their easy access to primary education through the implementation of psychomotor activities and varied expression. Their indoor and outdoor spaces are well designed and well equipped. In places where they are located, they are the best facilities that ensure quality preschool education. It could not be otherwise since these kindergartens have highly qualified staff.

The SOS Hermann Gmeiner Kindergartens have excellent relationships with the families of children who attend them. Besides, they develop good initiatives such as the introduction to computer science and English, well prepared and well performed educational trips, etc.
