07 Aug 2018
The national order of Benin is a Beninese honorific order which rewards the personal merit and the services done to the Nation. It has three ranks: Commander, Officer and Chancellor, and two dignities: Grand Cross and Grand Officer, all of which express the gratitude of the people of Benin to those who have distinguished themselves in various fields for the good of Benin.

During his visit to Benin and on the sidelines of the SOS Children's Village Abomey-Calavi Award Ceremony for the "Dare4Care" Award and the awarding of distinctive medals to the SOS Model Mothers of the organization, Siddhartha Kaul, President of SOS Children's Villages International, was received in the National Order of Benin. He was elevated to the rank of Commander by the representative of the High Chancellor, Commissioner Pierre Célestin Badet, in the presence of two government ministers: Bintou Adam Chabi Taro Minister of Social Affairs and Microfinance and Salimane Karimou, Minister of Maternal and primary Education.

Note that the rank of Commander is the highest distinction in the Grades category of the National Order.
